Mey is a Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Intern who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, providing a warm and non-judgmental space to navigate emotional, relational, and family challenges.
Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, Mey has lived in the United States for many years. Her own experience with immigration, rebuilding a life in a new country, and raising a family between two cultures has shaped her understanding of the challenges related to adjustment, identity, belonging, and life transitions.
Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflict, parenting challenges, grief, and immigration-related stress. She has a special interest in working with women and their families, supporting them through issues related to identity, career, relationships, emotional regulation, and different stages and transitions of life.
Mey’s therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. Through a systemic lens, she seeks to understand each client within the context of their personal story, relationships, and environment, helping them recognize patterns, process emotions, and develop practical tools for healthier relationships and choices.
Mey holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from Brazil, has international training in Systemic Integral Coaching with a specialization in Life Planning, and holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in the United States, with clinical training in systemic approaches and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Her Christian faith inspires her approach to care and compassion and, when desired by the client, can be thoughtfully integrated into the therapeutic process, always with respect for each individual’s beliefs, culture, and personal story.
Mey is married and the mother of two teenagers, experiences that have also deepened her understanding of relationships, parenting, and the different stages of family life.
