Karenah is a dedicated and enthusiastic clinical intern who is passionate about working with youth from diverse populations. Currently pursuing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Cambridge College, she is eager to expand her horizons by engaging with clients from various cultural backgrounds and age groups. Karenah believes that understanding and being open to different perspectives is crucial for providing adequate care, communication, and support in mental health.
With a strong background in working with children and adolescents, Karenah has spent several years volunteering in church youth groups and working in settings that support individuals with a range of mental health, neurological, behavioral, and emotional disorders. Her hands-on experience has equipped her with the skills necessary to connect with young clients and foster a safe and supportive environment where they can express themselves.
Most recently, Karenah served as a school adjustment counselor for high school students, providing guidance and support to those facing academic and personal challenges. Her role involved collaborating with teachers, parents, and mental health professionals to create tailored intervention plans that addressed each student’s unique needs. This experience deepened her understanding of the complexities of adolescent mental health and reinforced her commitment to advocacy and support for young people.
Eager to make a positive impact, Karenah is excited to work with a diverse clientele during her internship. She is also a proud dog mom who loves to dance, participate in her church’s events and youth groups, and spend time with loved ones on her days off.
